Once you exit the elevator on the 7th floor, this wall is what you will see. The right arrow points to the Volunteer Pick-Up room, which is on the same wall as the elevator.

Pick-up/Drop-Off Location: Vanport Building 1810 SW 5th Ave., Suite 710, Portland. Reserved kits are picked up on the 7th floor Volunteer/Will Call room.

Kit: Recycle or Not / Reciclar o No

This kit includes literature and visual displays to help start conversations with the public about what goes where for mixed recycling, glass, garbage, batteries, household hazardous waste, and more.

This kit also includes the basics of what can and cannot be recycled at home or work with a multiple-choice game. Simple, to the point, and collaborates with the local RecycleOrNot.org / ReciclarONo.org websites run by Metro. 

Fully available in Spanish. 

Literature includes residential and multifamily recycling guides and Recycle or Not brochures (all in English and Spanish).

Recycle guides also available in Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian upon request. 

Displays/Games:  

  • Multiple choice game with board (in English and Spanish) and dice.

  • Tablecloth saying “RecycleOrNot.org”

  • Tabletop information displays on batteries, garbage day reminders, etc.


Kit: Waste Less Food (Eat Smart, Waste Less)

This kit includes tips and tools to discuss how to reduce wasted food though meal planning, proper storage, and more.  

Some resources available in Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian, upon request.

Displays/Games:  

  • Food storage game on magnetic board with game pieces + storage tips on back (English and Spanish)


Kit: Multifamily Recycling

This kit includes resources specific to tabling and presenting to multifamily communities (apartments, condos, dorms, moorages, retirement communities, etc.) and property managers.  

Recycling guides available in Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian, upon request.

Displays/Games:  

  • Yes/No bag of various garbage and recycling


Kit: Do-It-Yourself Waste Audit

This kit includes everything you need to plan and complete your own waste audit. The Waste Sort Instructions will walk you through the steps. You may also find it helpful to use this average material weights by volume chart. Contact the City to reserve the kit at least a few weeks in advance, since the kit may already be checked-out for your preferred dates. You can reserve the kit for up to a week.
